October is a great month to turn up the volume on your competitive spirit because there are plenty of contests to enter along the Pacific Coast here in Costa Rica. Here are some of the most fun offerings.

1) The Jacó Surf Association is holding a surf competition to help promote student surfers and education. It will consist of all age groups, from grade school through University, and prizes will be donated by local businesses.
The contest will be held at the Best Western Jacó Beach on October 30 through November 1st, 2009.
